Two properties only a few kilometers apart can have completely different characteristics.
That is why I believe buyers should first understand how they want to live, and then determine which real estate opportunity supports that lifestyle and investment strategy.
What I Would Tell Someone Considering Cabo San Lucas
If you are seriously considering living in Cabo San Lucas, don’t experience it only as a tourist.
Stay longer.
Drive around different neighborhoods.
Spend time downtown.
Walk around the marina.
Visit Médano Beach.
Explore the Pacific side.
Have dinner in different parts of town.
Visit the communities you are curious about.
And do something very simple:
Imagine an ordinary Tuesday.
Not a perfect vacation Saturday.
A Tuesday.
Where do you wake up?
Where do you have coffee?
Where do you exercise?
Where do you shop?
Where do you meet your friends?
How do you spend the afternoon?
That exercise can tell you more about whether Cabo San Lucas is right for you than any list of amenities.
Cabo San Lucas vs. San José del Cabo
One of the questions I hear frequently is:
“Which is better, San José del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas?”
My answer is always the same:
It depends on the life you want.
If you are drawn to history, art, culture, a slower pace and a more traditional town atmosphere, San José del Cabo may feel more natural.
If you want energy, ocean activities, marina life, entertainment and a more dynamic urban environment, Cabo San Lucas may be the better fit.
Neither is better.
They are simply different.
And that difference is one of the reasons Los Cabos is such an interesting place to live.

One of the advantages of working throughout Los Cabos is being able to see how different each community can be.
I don’t want to simply show someone a beautiful property and tell them it’s the right one.
